DGUV - German statutory accident insurance
The planning, installation and maintenance of anchorage systems on roof surfaces requires qualified personnel. DGUV Information 201-056 defines two Qualification Levels for individuals entrusted with installing and inspecting permanently installed anchorage devices. These two levels ensure uniform standards and increase safety for those working in a fall danger zone.
Requirements
A test (e.g. Installation Specialist for ABS Systems) needs to be passed confirming that the respective knowledge level has been attained. This test serves as an objective confirmation that the content has been accordingly communicated.
The introduction of the Qualification Levels according to DGUV Publication 201-056 was a significant step forward - both from a quality assurance perspective as well as with regard to ensuring that all installation and maintenance work is documented in a legally watertight manner. Companies that rely on qualified personnel are directly investing in safety up on the roof surface and in maintaining the value of their installed systems in the long term.
