Our ABS Solar Guard guardrail system is attached permanently to an ABS Base Weight photovoltaic substructure - offering your roof workers all-round protection at all times.

Product information ABS Solar Guard

Our lightweight aluminium guardrail is used on flat roofs. It is installed on the ABS Base Weight or ABS Base Fusion photovoltaic substructure without penetrating the roof. And the Fusion substructure can even be easily integrated into a lightning protection system (100 kA) in accordance with DIN EN 62305-3.

The aluminium guardrail is 1,100 mm high and can be raised continuously (0-120 mm). The lightweight posts weigh around 3 kg, whereas conventional posts weigh 30 kg. This makes transport and assembly much easier.

Of course, the railing system can be extended beyond the PV system on the roof surface, there are virtually no limits.

  • EN 13374:2019, A
  • The height can be flexibly adjusted (0-120 mm)
  • Height of the handrail: 1100 mm
  • Distance between the posts: Max. 2.50 m
  • Weight of the supports: Approx. 3 kg each
    (conventional posts 30 kg)

Find out more about our ABS Solar Guard Lateral guardrail system for ABS PV substructures

Protecting your roof surface always comes first: Our ABS Solar Guard lateral guardrail system is simply installed on an ABS Base Weight or ABS Base Fusion photovoltaic substructure without penetrating your roof membrane. This collective protection solution ensures that the required distance to the falling edge is complied with - allowing roof workers to remain in the protected zone without needing to use PPE, for example, when servicing your PV system.

The installation of our ABS Solar Guard is extremely simple and requires very few tools. A welding torch and a tube cutter are all you need to cut the hand and knee rails to size and install them. Installation is quick and efficient, without needing to carry a lot of weight up onto the roof as the system does not require any additional weights. The guardrail itself is also a featherweight champion: As each post only weighs around 3 kg, our ABS Solar Guard is considerably lighter than conventional weighted-down systems, which can often be up to ten times heavier.

Thanks to being able to flexibly adjust the height up to 120 mm, it is easy to adapt the system to uneven surfaces and protrusions on the roof. This flexibility is enhanced by corner and gate elements that allow you to customize the system according to the architectural design of your roof.
