1. Collection of general information

If you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) contains, for example, the type of web-browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider and similar. This only relates to information which does not enable identification of you personally. This information is technically necessary in order to provide you with the requested content from the website correctly and is necessarily connected with use of the internet. This type of anonymous information is statistically evaluated by us in order to optimise our internet performance and the associated technology. The following data is stored: (1) type and version of browser, (2) operating system used by the accessing system, (3) the internet site from which an accessing system accesses our internet site (so-called referrer), (2) the sub-websites from which an accessing system is directed to our internet site, (5) the date and time of access to the internet site, (6) an internet protocol address (IP address), (7) the internet service provider of the accessing system and (8) other similar data and information which helps protect against attacks on our information technology systems.

The data set out above (1-8) serves to improve the service of ABS Safety GmbH, to undertake statistical evaluation, and to improve data security. The data is not used for the purposes of identifying the individual user.

2. Cookies

Like many other websites we also use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files which are transmitted from a website server to your hard drive. Through this we automatically receive specific data about your computer and your internet connection, such as, for example, IP address, browser and operating system.

Cookies cannot be used to start programmes or transmit viruses to a computer. On the basis of information contained in the cookies we can improve your site navigation and ensure correct displays on our website.

The data obtained by us is never passed on to third parties or linked to your personal data without your consent.

It is, of course, generally possible for you to use our website without cookies. Internet browsers are normally configured to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via the settings on your browser. Please use the help function on your internet browser in order to learn how to alter these settings. Please note that it is possible that individual functions on our website may no longer work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

3. SSL encryption

In order to protect the security of your data when transmitted, we use state of the art encryption methods via HTTPS (e.g. SSL) during the use of our web offer.

4. Newsletter

Where you apply to receive our newsletter, the data provided by you will only be used for this purpose. Subscribers may also be informed by email about circumstances which are relevant for the service or the registration process (for example, changes to the newsletter offer or technical circumstances).

For registration to be effective we require a valid email address. In order to check that an application has actually come from the owner of an email address, we use the “double opt-in” method. With this we record the order of the newsletter, the sending of a confirmation email and the receipt of the response that is requested therein. No further data is collected. The data is used only for sending the newsletter and is not passed on to third parties.

You can withdraw your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. In each newsletter there is an appropriate link to do this. Additionally, you can also unsubscribe directly on this website at any time or let us know via the contact details provided at the end of this data privacy notice.

Following termination of receipt of the newsletter your data will be deleted within 1 week, provided that there are no legal retention periods which prevent the deletion. By sending your data to us, you consent to this data processing and confirm our data privacy notice.

4.1 Google reCaptcha

We use the Google reCaptcha service in order to establish whether a particular entry in our contact or newsletter form is made by a person or a computer. Via the following data, Google checks whether you are a person or a computer: IP address of the end device used, the webpage on which you are visiting us and which is linked to Captcha, the date and duration of the visit, the identification data of the type of browser and operating system used, your Google account, if you are logged in with Google, mouse movements on the reCaptcha display, as well as exercises in which you have to identify pictures. The legal basis for the data processing described above is Art. 6, para. 1(f) General Privacy policy Regulation. We have a legitimate interest in this data processing in ensuring the security of our website and protecting ourselves from automated input (attacks).

5. Contact form

If you contact us by email or via the contact form, the details provided by you will be stored for the purposes of processing the query and for any potential connected questions.

6. Deletion and blocking of data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or in accordance with the numerous statutory storage periods. Following the end of the relevant purpose or expiry of these periods, the data concerned will routinely be blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions.

7. Use of Google Analytics

Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (hereafter "Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”; text files that are stored on your computer that enable analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Due to the activation of IP anonymisation on this website, within the Members States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area, your IP address will be shortened by Google in advance of this. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information in order to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports about web site activities and to provide additional services connected with the use of the website and the internet in relation to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics from your browser will not be linked to other Google data.

You can prevent storage of cookies by choosing the appropriate setting in your browser software; however, please be aware that if you do so, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website fully. Furthermore, you can prevent the collection of data through the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by using the following link to download and install a browser plug-in: Browser-Add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.

In addition or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent tracking by Google Analytics on our webpages by clicking this link. This will install an opt-out cookie on your device. This will prevent the collection by Google Analytics for this website and this browser, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

8. Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on our webpages. The operator for the relevant plug-ins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit a page that has a YouTube plug-in, a connection to the YouTube servers will be made. This will inform YouTube of which pages you are visiting. If you are logged in to your YouTube account this will enable YouTube to associate your surfing behaviour directly with you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

If a YouTube video is started, the promoter uses cookies which collect information about user behaviour.

If you have deactivated the storage of cookies by Google Ad Program, you should not receive cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube files non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.

You can find further information relating to data privacy on YouTube in the data privacy notice of the provider at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

9. Google AdWords

Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you visit our website via a Google connected advert, a cookie will be placed on your computer by Google AdWords. The cookie for Conversion Tracking will be placed if a user clicks on the Google connected advert. These cookies expire after 30 days and do not enable individuals to be identified. If the user visits particular pages on our website and the cookie has not expired, we and Google can identify that the user has clicked on the advert and is transferred on to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies therefore cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected by the conversion cookie enables conversion statistics for AdWords customers to be collected, where they have chosen Conversion Tracking. The customers receive details of the total number of users who have clicked on their adverts and who have been transferred to a page with a Conversion Tracking tag. They do not, however, receive any information which enables them to personally identify users.

If you do not wish to participate in Tracking, you can refuse the placing of the necessary cookie - for example, via browser settings which generally deactivate the automatic placing of cookies, or by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “googleleadservices.com”.

Please note that, whilst you do not want data to be recorded, you may not delete the opt-out cookie. If you delete all the cookies in your browser, you will need to set the relevant cookie again.

10. Use of Google Remarketing and Google Webfonts

This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc. The function shows adverts of interest to website visitors within the Google advertising network. A so-called “cookie” is stored in the browser of the website visitor, which enables a visitor to be recognised again when visiting websites belonging to the Google advertising network. On these pages the visitor is presented with adverts which relate to content which the visitor has previously looked at on webpages which use the Google remarketing function.

According to Google, no personal data is collected during this process. However, if you do not wish to use the remarketing function, you can normally deactivate this, by using the relevant settings at http://www.google.com/settings/ads. Alternatively, you can deactivate the use of cookies for interest related advertising via the network advertising initiative, by following the instructions at http://optout.networkadvertising.org/.

In order to ensure that our content is displayed in a correct and graphically consistent manner across the browsers, this website uses script libraries and font libraries such as, for example, Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Webfonts is transmitted to avoid multiple downloads into the cache of your browser. If the browser does not support Google Webfonts or the connection is prevented, content is displayed in standard font.

Contact with script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. It is therefore theoretically possible - however, it is currently also unclear whether and for what purposes - for operators to corresponding library data.

You can find the privacy policy guidelines of the library operator Google here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

11. Legal basis for the processing

For transactions where consent has been provided, Art. 6, para. 1 (a) GDPR is the legal basis for the relevant activity. Where personal data is required for compliance with our contractual obligations or for the conclusion of a contract, Art. 6, para. 1 (b) GDPR is the legal basis. The same applies to processing transactions which are necessary for implementing pre-contractual measures, for example, in cases of queries about our products or services. Where there is a legal obligation to process personal data, the legal basis may be Art. 6, para. 1 (c) GDPR. This may arise in particular in the area of tax and business law.

12. Your rights to information, rectification, blocking, erasure and objection

You have the right to receive information about the personal data which we hold about you at any time. You also have the right to rectification, blocking or, aside from prescribed data storage for business processing, erasure of your personal data. Please contact our privacy policy officer in this regard. You can find the contact details at the end of this document.

In order that data can be blocked at any time, this data must be stored in a blocking file for audit purposes. You can also request erasure of this data, provided there are no statutory archiving requirements. Should such a requirement exist, we will block your data upon request.

You can request changes or withdraw your consent with future effect by notifying us.

13. Changes to our privacy policy provisions

We reserve the right to adapt this data privacy notice to ensure that it continues to reflect current legal requirements or to implement changes to our operations in the data privacy notice, for example, where we introduce new services. The new data privacy notice will apply to future visits.

14. Forwarding of personal data

Your data shall only be forwarded to third parties upon receipt of your explicit consent to this effect. The only exceptions to this are transmissions to our cooperation partners and service providers which are required in order to fulfil our agreements with you and which you have commissioned to that end (for example, technical service providers). Accordingly, your data only shall be transmitted to such service providers and cooperation partners for the purpose of performing on a contract in accordance with Art. 6, para. 1 (b) GDPR, or to protect our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6, para. 1 (f) GDPR, in as far as this is expressly stated in this privacy policy. Apart from this, personal data shall only be passed on to those service providers with whom we have previously concluded a contract pertaining to commissioned data processing in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

In as far as data is passed on to service providers within the scope of our processing activities, we, as well as our service providers and cooperation partners, shall strictly observe the requirements of the GDPR. Before passing on your personal data, we shall, of course, make sure that our service providers and cooperation partners have introduced the required technical and organisational measures in order to guarantee an appropriate level of protection. The scope of the data transfer shall be restricted to the minimum amount of information required.

A transfer of data to state institutions and authorities who are entitled to receive information is only carried out in order to comply with the statutory duties to provide information, or if we are under commitment to provide information by a court or official decision. In this case, the transfer of your data is required in order to comply with a legal obligation in accordance with Art. 6, para. 1 (c) GDPR to which we are subject.
